Lawn care tip: Why go with tall fescue?

by editor on May 6, 2011

If you’re looking to add some color to your lawn, or grow a lawn that looks more robust this season, look into overseeding with tall fescue.

Tall fescue is often used by lawn care providers in their own seeding regimen. The reason this seed is widely used is because it grows well in sunny or shaded areas and has a uniform appearance once it is grown. However, it may not be a good choice if your area is prone to harsh winters.

Tall fescue is also preferable to lawn care providers because it delivers a beautiful, lush lawn that requires little upkeep. If your lawn is frequented by children and pets, or if you live in an area that has scorching summers and little rainfall, tall fescue proves that it is a durable type of grass. If you’re looking for a grass that is able to combat weed production and isn’t easily susceptible to disease, tall fescue is a good option.

It almost seems as if tall fescue is the wondergrass. Call your lawn care company today to find out more about overseeding your turf with tall fescue.
